As a white male going up in a rural area, it was hard to find the right music to fit my life. Country was too redneck, rock too typical. Rap always interested me, but all the popular rap acts just sounded... wack. It wasn't until 2003 when my prayers were answered, and former-wrestler-turned-rap-fiend "Macho Man" Randy Savage dropped his rap-tastic debut. "Be a Man" features 14 tracks of straight-up-dope rhymes all provided by the macho man himself. From the blistering title track calling out that punk Hulk Hogan to club-thumpin' anthem "Hit the Floor", this Macho Man knows how to party.

A lot of people diss me, using big words like "irony" to justify my tastes. I don't know what metal has to do it, but "Be a Man" is one of the best -- if not THE best -- rap album to come out in ages. In today's world, we need a rapper who can pump up the fun and brighten our lives with his beats from the streets. I also think it's time we need a rapper who isn't afraid to use the word "butt". (Take that Will Smith!) The Macho Man has redefined the game from the ground up, and Big3 Records should be proud to have him on their roster (next to Rick Derringer and Cheap Trick). The only beef I have for the Macho Man is... it's been five years! Where's the follow-up?
